Octorara reschedules budget meeting
The Octorara School District budget meeting which was postponed due to bad weather has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, in the middle school multipurpose room, according to school board secretary Jill Hardy.
In a recent The Atlantic article, "Danger, Falling Tyrants," Jeffrey Goldberg interviewed Egyptian playwright Ali Salem, who is bursting with ideas about how power corrupts, and about building political systems that resist that corruption.
Speaking of time limits on leadership, he said, "The beautiful idea is to limit the damage one human being can do to another. It's a beautiful idea. Do you know how beautiful it is?"

Please Read Newspapers
This blog is not a substitute for the coverage of a good daily community newspaper. It is an evolving experiment in civic journalism at a time when the economy and society are making it difficult for The Fourth Estate to fulfill its traditional and vital roles. Your community is currently covered by The Intelligencer Journal/New Era, along with The Sunday News. You may subscribe or read the newspaper online. Lancaster Newspapers also offers citizens the opportunity to comment on community issues and local news stories at: www.lancasteronline.com. A Web site for the Octorara community is now available at www.lancasteronline.com - My Community.
